ExporTech™ is a premier national program that was launched in 2007 via a partnership between two U.S. Department of Commerce bureaus: The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the U.S. Commercial Service (USCS) – part of the International Trade Administration. The Michigan ExporTech™ curriculum was redesigned to be delivered in a fully online format to accommodate the needs of busy remote-working executives. Meeting in six half-day sessions over the course of 12 weeks, participants learn about solutions for the complexities that arise from doing business globally and develop a strategy to grow export sales.  The program pairs participants with co-coaches from the U.S. Commercial Service (USCS) and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), and a team of business students to assist them with researching export markets. The highlight of the program features company executives presenting their strategic export growth plans to a panel of experts from the Michigan District Export Councils for crucial feedback.

ExporTech™ Michigan is organized jointly by the U.S. Commercial Service-Michigan and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, with strong support from the East and West Michigan District Export Councils, EXIM Bank, the Small Business Administration, the Michigan Small Business Development Center, and the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

***Companies must submit an application to Eve.Lerman@trade.gov and be accepted to the program before registering.  A maximum of 8 companies will be accepted for the winter 2024 program.
